[Ke...]
You may need to log in to your Zeiss portal account, or if you are not in North America it may be due to that. Someone on the forum has posted instructions for changing your location that seems to work, but I cannot verify or test. How to deal with an SDO 1215 error Issue: Probe qualification unsuccessful and Calypso is reporting a SDO 1215 error. Solution #1 A 1215 error most often indicates a component involved is loose, dirty, or broken. This could be a loose reference sphere not fully threaded into the holder, or the holder not bolted tightly to the table. It could mean there is dust or other contaminants on your stylus, or perhaps damage to the stylus tip. Make a close inspection of each part of your tactile probe and reference sphere or measurement piece. Ensure each part is secured tightly including the probe head. Clean the stylus tip and reference sphere. Solution #2 If you went through Solution#1 and the -1215 error still occurs, Resetting the MasterProbe may resolve the issue. Make sure the Masterprobe is the active sensor on the head Go to Stylus System Management and highlight the #1 tip in the middle column Right click on the #1 selection and pick "Reset Master Probe" Are you sure you want to do this? Answer "Yes". NOTE: If you have any other angles associated with the Masterprobe , they will be deleted. Do you want to change the probe type? Answer "No" You will get a message saying that the Masterprobe will be created. Click OK. Now, its time to run the Reference Sphere position. When you click on that button, a long message will appear telling you that CALYPSO will re-map the RDS. You will now be asked to take a point on the reference sphere. If you are on an RDS/XXT the RDS will want to rotate after the CMM is done with the measurement. Make sure there is clearance before you hit OK. This procedure will repeat itself for 4 different angles. When the RDS returns to the 0 , 0 position, the Sphere orientation screen will appear. You must now choose the shaft orientation and hit ok Take a point on the top of the sphere and the CMM will finish the Master probe qual.
[Cr...]
Or in my case it was always after a Zeiss tech calibrated our CMM and probes got corrupted. I found deleting the probe number that's giving you the error, recreate it, and calibrate it again always worked. Zeiss could never figure out why this was happening to us. I stopped asking after 3 or 4 years of it. Now I just do what I mentioned when they come up with the error.
