User Defined Variables Editor not working

I'm running Calypso 2023(7.8) and am having trouble using the custom variables editor.  I open Resources/Design Custom Report/Editor for User-Defined Report Header Variables  but nothing happens.  No dialog box or anything.And when I open Resources/Design Custom Report/Editor for Pre-Defined Report Header Variables it won't let me edit anything.  I've even tried using UserFields itself and it won't save any of the changes I've made.  Any ideas from anyone what might be happening?

But this should work on older programs - not sure if you can do that when you resave program in newer version of Calypso

I think this is a 2023 bug as I've had others run into this. You might try updating to the latest service pack to see if that fixes it. 

I've also had luck going into the "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO 7.6\protocol\protform" folder and deleting the userfields.ini file.

You can also directly open the UserFields editor as it is located in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Zeiss\CALYPSO 7.6\bin\UserFieldsEditor"
