[Jo...]
The user manual implies I can use formulas to recall features (pg 4-143 "If you want to define recall by means of a formula input, do not select anything here and select formula in the context menu") but I cannot find the formula input window anywhere! I am new to patterns and I am trying to recall the points from a pattern of features into a series of 3d lines. I would like a 3d line from (1+2), (3+4), (5+6) etc and its sort of driving me nuts! Index exchange works great for things like distance measurements when i can select two individual features, but when i have to select all my recalled points in that one window i cannot do index exchange. I am able to do this by manually creating characteristics, but I really need a patterned characteristic. Any insight would be helpful, thanks! [Jo...]
I answered my own question! If you click in the 5 pixels of white space at the bottom of your list of elements, the formula option does appear. I have a lot of elements so didnt have any clear white space to click. /facepalm
[Jo...]
I'm still having a hard time with this. I have a feature of bolt holes in a pattern (BoltHole(*)). I would like to create a series of 2D lines between sequential holes. i.e. BoltHole(1)+BoltHole(2). BoltHole(2)+BoltHole(3). To do this i I need to recall these points to a 2d line feature using the formula input field when selecting a recall. I cant seem to figure out how to get this to work with a formula. I had expected "list(BoltHole(LOOP1), BoltHole(LOOP1+1))" would have done the trick but it just runs the whole pattern with 1 and 2. I also tried un-literalizing the string something like "list(BoltHole(" + LOOP1 + ")", but that also doesnt seem to work.
