Problems with Circle in Contour Best Fit

From my google searches this function has never worked properly.

Hoping someone has had some success.

Here's my situation. I have a blade root form. The drawing is using the "hypothetical" rolls or phantom cylinders as datums.

I have done the 3D curve. Copied it and limited the evaluation to the area of the "roll".

When selecting Circle in Contour Best Fit, the only one of the options that even puts a circle in the graphic window is the Right Bend Circle and use On Number of Points.

Now it show one of three error messages, of which only two are listed in the help file, depending on the Min. Contact Angle.

They are, 0 - 44 degrees, Actual: There are several possible positions with the contact angle greater than the minimum angle

45 -125 degrees, Actual: Spline Calculation not possible (point disorder)

126 degrees and up, Actual: No two point contact with contact point greater than minimum angle.

Nothing populates the Actuals.

Any ideas??

Got it working with help from tech support.

Short answer is to cut down the length of the scan data to only the area where you want the "roll" to fit.
