[Ro...]
I have a program and the Engineers want me to scan a 1.375 OD thread as a cylinder feature, which is fine except its a pretty coarse thread for a 2mm ball. I'm trying to optimize time so a probe change isn't possible. I'm doing several linear scans along the length of the thread, +Y and -Y for full coverage, then outer tangential filtering. Within 2 seconds the machine gives me the "sensor did not carry out the measurement with the expected measuring force" error, and then when the cylinder is done it goes back and remeasures the it again, which adds about a minute and a half to the program. How do i turn off optimizing for this feature?

[Ri...]
Without some undocumented PCM code, I do not think it is possible to turn it off for a singular feature. The compatibility settings are an all or nothing setting. It is possible to add some pre-measurements that might help you, but if it is purely form related that is causing the trigger, there isn't a lot you can do. You could always cheat and just scan it really fast by default, and then let it automatically slow it down to the speed you are looking for. Might be able to trick it that way.

What about for the whole program? Im new to scanning optimization, im not a big fan of the XXT. Edited Thursday at 12:40 PM
[Ri...]
I had a post similar to yours, I was told you can turn that off, but it applies to everything.

[No...]
Well, since it's turned off in the compatibility settings, I'd say everything in a program.

[Ri...]
Well, you can either turn it off for that specific measurement plan, which will turn it off for every feature in that measurement plan, or you can turn it off for all measurement plans, which will turn it off for every feature in every measurement plan.
