Move away from probe rack before rotating?

Hello, I know there is probably an easy solution to this I am just having difficulty finding information online. I am also very new to working with a rotating head on a Cmm

My current program starts with a pickup where the probe is facing straight towards the back of the Cmm, so if a probe change needs to happen in CNC mode at the beginning of the program the probe just rotates straight into the probe rack.

I have set it up to where the position it “should” move to when it does need rotate in the middle. (I don’t remember the name off the top of my head, but basically the rotate version of “cnc end park position”) yet it seems to ignore that at the beginning of the program as well as when I execute a feature (this is the second time it has happened lol)

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

I don't know which rotating head you are working with.  The XTR is the only rotating head I use.  But my guess is that your solution will be with the approach parameters.

I'm just thinking out loud here but that's the first thought that came into my head.  Someone else might have a better idea and others might know more about the RDS sensor if that's what you're using.

With RDS, there are several things you can adjust. As Chad says, you can change the parameters for the switching distance, height, before and after the switch. This applies to the probe change.
Under the KMG tab in the probe system section, in the probe name dropdown menu, you can set the position that the probe pivots to immediately after being picked up. I have the magazine position set to A90 B0 here.

Thank you all very much for the responses, I changed the approach parameter for position after change. I turned it up a ton to make sure i now have plenty of clearance and that seems to have fixed my issue. Thank you very much!

Keep in mind that if you delete a holder and create a new one, the settings will need to be re-entered.
