Hide Gear Characteristics from Calypso report

Hi everyone  I should know this but perhaps it is slipping my mind.

I have Gear Pro DFM PiWeb data saving turned on to save the gear characteristics to the PiWeb Database, (I also have QDAS activated and outputting as well). This puts hundreds of extra characteristics into the CALYPSO/PiWeb report.  The gear pro manual seems to hint that we can 'hide' or 'mark' these.  Do I just 'mark' the gear macro ? I tried this with existing data - but didn't seem to work, I am running another part to confirm.

I don't want the .jpg from gear pro - rather just the DFM files, because we may need to review data later specifically for gears in PiWeb Reporting plus. I also do not want any gear characteristics in the CALYPSO report, the standard PDF gear report separately is fine.

I think we have other programs set up as this one is now, and it doesn't seem to output the gear characteristics.

thank you !

Hey Chris,

Just to clarify, you want to export the GEAR PRO characteristics to PiWeb so its in the database, but not show them on the report?

I honestly don't know of a way to do that right off the top of my head, at least not without editing the PiWeb protocol with some sort of filter for the Gear Pro characteristics, but I'll play around with for a bit. Calypso I don't think knows about the GEAR PRO characteristics, so I don't think we can mark them right off the top of my head.

Yes Kyle exactly, thank you. I definitely think this should be an option to some degree, at least filter out all the extraneous Gear Pro junk.

Please let me know if you have any solutions.

Thank you sir !!

Hi Chris,

if you don´t want to upload the JPG to the DFS, just don´t activate the export in the GEAR PRO subdialog of the PiWeb-Export:image.thumb.png.f179d66a4f539417e587e74397fcf7aa.png

Regarding the second question, you can arrange that in PiWeb reporting plus, just don´t activate the values which you don´t want to see: image.thumb.png.2325cb6eeb72e38d1c71086e7a219c89.png

Another possibility is to set in PiWeb Planner the item "control item" for values which you want to filter out in PiWeb reporting plus.
Step 1 "control item":

Step 2 filter in reporting plus:

Roman and All,

Thank you. It is not the JPG or PiWeb Plus I am concerned with though.

It is Calypso PiWeb 'multiple report' only. See attached. I am reffering to the default PiWeb multiple report after a CNC run.

Also see attached snip from Gear Pro manual which appears to say these characteristics can be hidden on Calypso report with multiple report 'hide' (+mark) features. Is this an incorrect or misleading statement ?

In Calypso as you are aware , the gear characteristics are never recognized for 'marking' or 'hiding'.

The only possibility I can think of was to 'mark' the gear macro which does not surpress the gear characteristics.

Also we do not have PiWeb Enterprise only PiWeb+, I have done the filtering out of unwanted gear characteristics for things like table files, I am unsure how this might apply to reports generated during normal inspection runs.

I would think that this should definitely be an option if it is not, it nearly doubles the length of the report with unnecessary characteristics.

Hi Chris,

ok, clear now.
In case of PiWeb-export of numerical values, all GEAR PRO characteristics which are on the GEAR PRO report will be exported to the DFS.
But if you "disable" some of them and if you activate "marked characteristics are not displayed" in CALYPSO, the disabled will not be shown on the PiWeb report.

Roman,

Yes I understand that if we 'deactivate' statistics export, these GP characteristics will not show on CALYPSO report, however, I need statistics 'enabled' for QDAS output as well ( we have a plan to fully use PiWeb instead of QDAS but that is a little ways off ).

Is there any other solution ?

Thank you !
