Why would you ever NOT comp the probe out?

Im noticing working with curves there are tons of options for if you want your point lists exported with or without the probe tip compensated.   I am curious what scenarios would you NOT want the probe comped out?  I cant think of any case where that would be helpful to do manually, even using external software. 

 

If there are so many settings, someone must use it!  Appreciate the info

Wouldn't this settings allow you to export measured data without skewing real position by calculating touch vector?

One reason would be if the machinist needed to know the true center of his cutting tool, then he can comp his tool setting for the size of tool he is using.
