GD&T Callout for Spline Tooth Angle

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Have a question on a drawing callout related to the tooth angle of an external spline. Never have seen this one before and just wondering have to apply this tolerance using Calypso 2022.

It appears to be a ratio in regard to the amount of change over a given distance. In this case the ratio is 63 : 152. Please, see attachment.

Thanks for any assistance provided.

This is alternative notation. I think you can not set your angle like that - you have to calculate it.
I don't see any callouts for those basic dimensions, but i have a little experience with gears.

I have been doing gears and splines for over 25years, mostly ours and a few vendors, and i have never seen a call out like this ... but... it looks like the angle is just the 22.5 pressure angle.  I have never seen the pitch diameter have a tolerance but the tooth thickness, space be basic.... does not mean it couldn't be...
