Pattern inside a pattern?

Say I have a workpiece like that.

I know I can make one pattern for four big holes and four separate patterns for three holes each with one index excluded.

 

Can I make it any quicker, like:

A) pattern A for three holes

B) pattern B containing the pattern A and a big hole?

I have not had the opportunity to use it, but perhaps this is where creating a "Macro" (in the dropdown under "File") could be useful?
