[Cl...]
I wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this before. We just got a new MMZ setup I built a full set of matching probes to our large ACCURA II both are running Calypso 2025 and have Vast Gold heads. After running the first part on the new CMM I was reviewing the data and noticed all the measure points are angled down towards the rayco plate. I reran the same part on the other CMM and everything looked normal. The calculated results between the two CMM's are pretty similar so I am not sure why think look odd on one. I have ran a few different parts with multiple probes and across all of them the points are angled down even in bores the points will be tapered inward like the bore is cone shaped. [Cl...]
Are you using the exact same fixturing on both CMM's? The only other time I've seen this is when using an out of balance and/or over-weight star probe. Edited February 6
[Pa...]
Hey it sounds like you're running very similar equipment to us! Accura 16/42/14 and Accura II 16/42/15, both Vast Gold. This may be super obvious, and no slight intended, but is there any chance qualification results from the two machines are being saved at the same server location? If so you can qualify one machine all good, but when you qual the second one, both machines will be using the values from the second qualification (assuming identical stylus system names). I suspect the VAST Gold head on one of these is longer than on the other, and your Master Probes are different lengths as well. I learned this the hard way... [Cl...]
Thanks for all the replies, no resolutions yet. Both CMM's have a 1" thick aluminum "rayco" plate with 1/4-20 holes spaced 1" apart in a grid pattern. Part has a machined face on the bottom that is sitting directly on the plate and the part is pushed up against two 1"x1" post in the Y axis to square the part with a 3rd post providing a stop in the X axis. While the probes names and profiles were copied from the ACCRUA I manually requalified each probe on the MMZ and the data is saved locally for the probes on each CMM. I haven't checked if the heads and master probes are different lengths but I will look in to that next I will say I did notices that travel range is different in the Z between the two. They are both listed as 2000/3000/1500 but on the ACCURA II the Z travel range says it is 1450 and on the MMZ it is 1400.
