Hawk II handheld buttons not working

For some reason the buttons on my scanner are not working. I have re-started and unplugged the scanner. Still no use of the controls on the devise. What am I missing. Is there a toggle or an on/off button I'm missing?

there should be a initialize sensor button near the top right that should fix that i think
