[Ma...]
Hi Guys, Could you suggest what solutions you use for mounting many small parts on one pallet (e.g. small rotational parts – bushings, etc.)? I’d like to get some inspiration. Previously, we didn’t use the autorun option or measure multiple parts in a single setup. Photos of holders, fixtures, or links to manufacturers of such solutions would be welcome. Thanks in advance
[Ma...]
Depending on weight, size and magnetism. Running in an autorun is good for selecting nests, but using new PiWeb is more time consuming, then the old ones - so if you are concerned about time, then i would use more parts in one program. Or combination of autorun and many parts in one program ( like each nest would be one line of N parts ). We've used rubber pad and screw head on granite to place parts and perform quick measure of concentricity.
[Da...]
If you have a 3d printer available you can print a fixture, nest, clamps etc that will hold your parts. That's how we setup "pallets" for some of our parts. You can always create a measurement plan to inspect your printed fixture if you think it won't be accurate enough.
[Jo...]
You could do something like this using the spring locator pin with 2 dowels. This could either be printed or machined at low cost. spring locator pins can be purchased on mcmaster-carr. 1
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I had a similar setup and oddly enough, a similar part. I created 500 V shaped Counterbores that were .015 deep, and used a spring pin similar to your setup. You would load the part into the V apply the force against the spring device and snap in two contact two surface. This allowed maximum feature area exposed. We would place them in by hand and for removal we used a best fit gage pin to tilt the part and snap it out of the pocket. These were too small for my manly fingers to remove. 😁
