[Ju...]
Has anyone else had issues scanning in 2026 with a ScanHawk2? Even after installing the new SP1 it still has issues scanning. I In 2025 with a single pass its working normal but with the same setting and same single pass 2026 will not scan.
[Pa...]
I just scanned a bit of a part today and I'm seeing the same issue as you. The scanned surface looked more solid after a scan in the earlier versions. I even called my supplier to ask about it, but they couldn't say why it was such difference.
[Ch...]
In 2025 once a point was measured it was visualized with full splat size and fixed normal. In 2026 the visualization of scanned data changed slightly; splats adapt over time. The more a often point is observed the bigger the representing splat gets. This should give an indication where data is measured sufficiently to get a good mesh without holes. So if you just do a single quick scan on a surface you'll get porous visualization. [Ju...]
The scan was very slow so it should not be porous
[Ch...]
In previous versions, the premeasured surface might appear "better filled" than the final polygonized surface. While the new adaptive visualization aims to address filling holes by encouraging more scanning in areas with low point density, it may not provide a what you see is what you get as mentioned by Christoph. To improve your results, consider taking additional scans in areas where you notice lower point density/size . This should help to reduce holes in the polygonized mesh.
