Measuring the second part in Mini-Plan

Hi Guys,

I would like to measure two identical parts in a single setup using Mini-Plan (the first part – main base, the second part – Mini-Plan). I know that this way I will get one report containing the results from both parts, but in our case we cannot use the Auto-Run option (it’s a longer story).

Maybe I’ll explain how I’m doing it now:

  • I load the second model into the program, offset by the required value.
  • Then I copy all the elements and create a local coordinate system for the Mini-Plan from them.
  • Finally, I copy the characteristics and assign the new elements to them.

It’s a bit of a time-consuming process...

Is there any way to quickly copy all the elements into Mini-Plan and automatically create characteristics from them?

Thanks in advance

You indicated that the second part is identical? Is it a different operation? What about adding a programmable stop to remove the first part and load the second one?

I don't have experience with PCM. Do you think, it will be possible with this option? Do you have some idea for this?

I think you can copy elements and characteristics, then you have to correct element name in characteristics.

Now to change their nominals, you have to first make an alignment with just translation to new position.
Now you can change element's alinment to new one, but first check "keep position".
This will keep nominals the same, but it will move element.
