Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer with hands-on experience in Zeiss CMM systems and Calypso software to support dimensional inspection of precision aerospace engine hardware. The role involves CMM programming, inspection execution, FAI support, and close collaboration with quality and manufacturing teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, edit, validate, and maintain CMM programs using Calypso for Zeiss systems
  • Perform dimensional inspection of aerospace engine components (blades, vanes, disks, cases, seals, etc.)
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, 3D CAD models, and OEM specifications
  • Execute First Article Inspections (AS9102) and generate inspection reports
  • Validate CMM programs through dry runs, correlation studies, and repeatability checks
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure calibration, maintenance, and revision control of CMM programs and documentation
  • Apply best practices for tight-tolerance and complex geometries using aerospace materials (Inconel, Titanium, Waspaloy)

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–5+ years of experience in CMM programming or metrology (aerospace or precision manufacturing preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Calypso and Zeiss CMM equipment
  • Solid understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and 3D model interpretation
  • Experience inspecting tight-tolerance, complex components
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and aerospace OEM requirements
  • Ability to troubleshoot measurement, fixturing, and setup-related issues
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering
  • Experience inspecting engine rotating hardware (airfoils, rotors, disks, seals)
  • Familiarity with PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, Faro, or laser scanning systems
  • Background in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or engine build support
  • Knowledge of SPC, MSA, dimensional analysis, and MBD workflows
  • Self-starter with professional maturity and minimal supervision needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, and move through a shop environment for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as required
