Cook book app

I feel like Zeiss should develop a cook book app where you could chose your feature, enter nominal info and what kind of measurement you are looking for it and it should tell you the optimal starting filtering and evaluation settings. This would help new guys a lot. The cook book has great information but is difficult to teach new people how to use it.

great idea, with AI - I think they should now be able to build it right in for most features/cases, and let the user modify any settings if desired.

Tip : create a short 'cheat sheet with standard size ranges.

I've been doing it so long I think I know them all by memeory.

You can request it on MyVoice portal - if it gets enough votes they will work on it.

More recent versions of Calypso sorta have the cookbook information built in but I don't think it's ready for primetime.   Maybe in the future (I've been saying this for since the cookbook was first released), they'll incorporate a checkbox that will automatically convert your feature to a fully cookbook compliant feature.  When I was typing the last sentence, I inadvertently typed checkbook. When I went to correct it, I said 'Maybe I didn't misspell it".  lol

The only reason I can see this not being implemented is that it would reduce revenue from the cookbook. From a programming perspective, this is a relatively simple feature. The software would check if “single points” is not selected in the measurement strategy, then reference the feature’s properties and measurement settings. That information is already available in the program, so the correct evaluation parameters could be automatically applied.
