[AG...]
Quick question, i have small ID's and no probe small enough to scan the inside of them. I do know that i can use a gage pin to help this question i have. But, i have been approached and asked if there is a way to use a larger probe to find the location of said smaller ID's with just one probing point to find location/center of ID's. There is 1,285 ID's and it will be programming by taking each ID manually. There is no Cad to help with this, the print is from originally 1956 and last updated was 2004. I am drawing a blank but i believe its either self centering or 4 point diameter function i can use, maybe not? Thank you for any information/direction anyone has on this topic. If the probe is larger than your ID, then you probably want to use self centering point (inside of the point Strategy), and use the "Midpoint" Evaluation

[AG...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Ok, i see now what this takes. I constructed a point put in all my nominals for the hole. I did the self centering and that worked. My other question is say i just want go and pick up 10 holes and just probe them like i said and get the location. But if i probe it in the Z straight up and down and it is putting my probe point as shown. How to correct this? I have to be making this harder than it seems. This is what i will be doing is just going over each hole no CAD and referencing the print nominals with each points i take for each individual holes.
