[Ho...]
Hello, Long time PC-DMIS user from a 9-year Calypso Hiatus. Trying to get a better understanding of how the MasterProbe works. First, I do a reference sphere position with the MasterProbe through the probing system qualification window. Next, calibrate other styli systems to that. Say I want to make a program to calibrate all stylus systems, and the sphere does not move. If I put the MasterProbe at the top in the characteristics, will this update the previous ref sphere pos. that was done? Let's just say we put the MasterProbe in the program due to the machine shutting down and having to rehome. Thanks for the help!
[Ri...]
Yes, if there is an automatic qualification of the MasterProbe it will update the Reference Sphere Position.

[Ja...]
After I run my requalification program, I have it go back through (after all the probes have been requalified – want at least 1 probe system change before each one) and verify each stylus to see how close to “0” each one is, and how accurate the diameter is. I’ve found this to be extremely helpful when dealing with tight tolerances. I learned very quickly that I don’t want to trust just the sigma values alone. For many part numbers, I’ll write a separate probe requalification program just for that part number.
