Micura Error 88, Hardware not conform to specification

I have an XTR adaptor plate giving me trouble on my Micura.  I'm getting the "88 Hardware not conform to specification" every time it picks up this adaptor plate.  

My first thought was scratches on the contacts, I do see a scratch I don't like;  but this one doesn't look that bad.  It looks better than other plates that work just fine.  Does anyone have a good strategy to force thru this error.  

I've already replaced it with a new adaptor plate, so its not holding me up or anything.  But I really don't want to scrap this $1200+ plate if I can help it.

Isn't this used only for probe identification? Usage is show like that - but that doesn't mean that this one spot is faulty - it can be 2nd from top to left with darker spot, which can be faulty.

Same this is on mobile covers - i use solder and microsoldering pen to fill that - gold is used because of material property - inertia. It won't corode.

If it's not working, then try it out to cover it with solder - but you will face the same problems in a time again.

agreed.  picture got rotated when I downloaded it.  This is the area where the head contacts are.  I still can't believe that type of scratch would cause it to not get the signal it needs.

I don't have experience with these - never seen one on my eyes, but since it's auto-rotating plate, then movement of that rotation can push contact pin into contact area and do a little scratch with maybe a dirt. Perhaps manufactiring tolerances ... But that's only my assumptions.

I think problematic will be that furthest to the left side of a red box.

Try cleaning the contacts with a soft Art Eraser. 

I have not tried this on one of these adaptors, but I have done this to memory cards that didn't work, and after, they worked.
