Profile Tolerance with No Datum Reference

i am sure i have seen this discussed here before,, but can not find the topic

here is my issue

drawing is asking for Profile tolerance regardless of any Datum

 

 

the feature is a cone 

"Profile of line" has the option of "No Datum Feature", but you can't select a cone

"Profile" doesn't offer to the same option

I tried to use the same feature as Primary Datum, but it can not calculate it (purple)

only thing that gave me any result was when i created "Geometry Best Fit" using the same feature (Cone) and use that as datum reference

However, i am not certain if this is correct

i was hoping someone here can either confirm or have a better solution

If you have FreeForm, then recall measured data on that surface and select no datum reference.

Otherwise you can use Form with doubled value.

For the top tier, you need to create a sub-alignment with -CB- then create a geometry best-fit relative to the sub-alignment, enter the cone feature, then click evaluation constraints and apply the appropriate constraints. You would then use the Geometry best fit as your datum reference frame in the profile characteristic. 

For the bottom tier, Enter the Cone as the feature as well as all (3) datums but be sure to change the evaluation of the datums to "minimum feature".

This is not a composite control frame, it should be treated as two separate DRF's.  In this case the bottom DRF to no datums would just be FORM.

I was testing a cylinder a time ago, where i compared profile of cylinder with filled datums of that feature against profile of FF - same measured points ( either one was recalled into another ) and results were very different.

I think i have used restriction for radius, then Gauss
