[Jo...] Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM Share Posted yesterday at 04:23 PM Has anyone with a Surfcom had issues with the detector failing and had to deal with the lengthy lead time to get a replacement part? The lead time we were told is 2-6months for a replacement part which seems pretty crazy to me but Zeiss said that is normal for that part. If you have run into this issue, can you provide insight on what your company did to help bridge the gap and inspect parts while having a machine down for months? We are a prototype heavy company and use it daily for inspecting tight tolerance threads, radii, and chamfers.
[Ow...]
Probably not much help, but I believe the Surfcom is made by ACCRETECH (Tokyo Seimitsu) for Zeiss and that's probably where the parts come from. You might step on some toes, but you might try reaching out to them and see if you can get what is needed quicker. Several independent metrology firms service Surfcom contour and roughness instruments, including: Cross Precision Measurement Q-Mark / Metrology Support Services MSI Viking Higher Precision Willrich Precision These companies often provide: Calibration Preventive maintenance Retrofit support Used or refurbished components Availability depends on whether the part is proprietary.
