[Mo...] Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:12 PM Can I have my programs saved on a network drive and use that to run the programs on various CMMs instead of having separate copies of the programs on each CMM?
[Na...] Posted yesterday at 02:26 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:26 PM Yes you can run from a network drive just be aware there can be issues with the programs running slower or having hang ups if the network is having issues.

[Ra...]
Anyone else having trouble getting into the portal? I click sign in, page loads, then loads back into the login screen. Seems to happen every once in a while.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. What happens when two or more CMM's have the same program open, maybe not at the same time, they could be seconds to hours apart from each other. For network control and running from the local drive, I created an interface that lets users copy files from the network location to the local drive. They can't delete or paste to the master network location, if edits are performed, they are logged in an excel workbook Rev History worksheet, the files are then moved to a "transfer folder" based on the CMM they were run on (In my case we have multiple versions installed), reviewed for the edits and either denied or approved. If edits are denied, the parts ran are reviewed for the results, if the edits are approved a designee moves the files to the master network folder, prior to the move the original is appended "- History (date) (Initials). History files are moved to a "#History" folder. Users login to the app, perform actions (all actions are logged) and file restrictions are handled in the app.
[Ri...]
As long as both users aren't actively trying to "program" at the same time - there are no issues with having the exact same measurement plan open at the exact same time. Though I would recommend that anyone who has operators should actively be using AutoRun instead of the native GUI of Calypso.
[Ch...]
It works well; we have one folder per CMM for the measurement points and results. The base... is local on the CMM PC anyway.
