[Jo...] Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:07 PM Hi All, We are updating to Calypso 2025 from 2021. What is the easiest way to transfer CMM settings to the new version? Is it as easy as copying the config folder in Users? I am looking to transfer probe data, reference sphere, machine type, Probe Rack, and environment settings. Thanks in advance! [No...]
The easiest way - in my opinion - is to install the new version parallel to the old one and then log into the new version as Master. Calypso will recognize there's an old version installed and prompt you to migrate its data. You can select what to migrate in the dialog and there's even a preview mode so you can see exactly which data files are copied. i use this all the time with new releases and it works quite well. Note however that it doesn't copy each and every bit of data. But the settings you mentioned should all be covered, as well as base alignments. [Ke...]
There is also the built in save and restore function, located in Extras-settings-Miscellaneous-System. The exact name (save restore, save and recover, backup system) has changed between versions a few times, but the concept and location is the same. It will ask what to back up, save a file, and then you can use the restore in the new version to load that backup. Can be done to backup existing versions for just in case purposes as well. 1 Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/27808-easiest-way-to-cmm-settings-to-a-newer-version/#findComment-157786 Share on other sites
[Ro...]
I copy all the data in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\Calypso x.x, and paste it in the new folder. I have had issues in the past with the import function not working completely. [Jo...]
I ended up copying the config folder, but it did prompt me to import other data, as Norbert mentioned. Everything seems to have transferred over correctly. Thanks all for the help! [No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I'm using this alongside data migration, but it's not as convenient, although it provides more detailed options of what to back up. The main thing I'm missing here are the base alignments. I copy them with an extra batch file, which also saves a few other files, like a secondary qdasconv.con and the Autorun config file.
