[Mi...]
After the update to SP4, I get the error when opening project. If I go back to 2022 SP3 all is OK, and I can open the same project without any problems. What is going on?
[Be...]
Hi, sorry, for concrete (particular) data problems like these you have to contact the professional support and you have to supply your project (confidential, of course). It seems that there is high data dependency that the project is not loadable anymore. Regards, Bernd
[An...]
We have the same problem with various projects - opening in V2022 SP3 is possible, opening in V2022 SP4 is not. The hint to rebuild the project with the help of the function "Recover Project" and thus to repair it is not very helpful, because we always store reduced projects on a server and with reduced projects and a recover one runs into another error (no more calculation of the pre-alignment). The result is that with V2022 SP4 many projects can no longer be opened but also not repaired. A productive use of the V2022 SP4 is questionable for us... [Be...]
Hi Mr. Gallasch, thank you for your feedback. Of course, opening of projects should be a stable during increasing our Service Packs (of course, also for major version). It seems that a special data constellation in particular projects now leads to problems during opening a project. We will work on this problem and we hope that we can offer a solution as soon as possible! In general: Due to data dependency in cases like that we need for an investigation the concrete projects which can be supplied via our professional support. [Ch...]
Hello, We have looked into a solution with which we can repair projects with faulty data structures that cannot be opened in GOM Software 2022 SP4 now. A bug in Software 2021 lead to these erroneous templates that carried an error forward to projects and further templates. This does not have to be immediately visible to the user as an error. Further in the field of Airfoil (Blade Inspect) as well as Volume Inspect this data structure is relevant and automotive projects itself not faulty. In GOM Software 2022 SP4 there was a function introduced to recognize defects this led to the circumstance that affected templates and projects could not be opened in contrast to GOM Software 2022 SP3. With a modification in GOM Software 2022 SP5 (shortly available) affected projects that cannot be opened currently will be able to be opened again, but still with the internal faulty state. Since Software 2021 we cannot exclude that there is a risk which might lead to further problems when modifying an affected project or template. There is a possibility to “cut out” certain information within the project. In doing so projects and templates will be able to be loaded again e.g., for the automotive sector. Some customers do have a huge number of projects and templates to care for. We plan to create a Package that will prove templates and projects on these defects and cut out the affected data dialog guided. This Package will be usable in versions GOM Software 2021 to GOM Software 2023 so that repaired projects and templates can be saved in the desired software version. [An...]
Too late for us... We're just "converting" terabytes of projects and project templates...
[An...]
GOM Inspect 2022 SP5: "With GOM Software 2022 Service Pack 5 the improved detection of corrupted data inside the project was disabled again, so that affected projects can be opened again as we got noticed that some customers had many affected projects that could not be used anymore. With this follow-up problems such as crashes may happen again. We are working on an easy-to-use project integrity test that detects such affected projects and is able to repair most of them." This "easy-to-use project integrity test" should have been developed from the moment the decision was made not to allow corrupt projects to be opened with SP4. And with the SP4 this software should have been published. At the latest, better a few weeks before. Embarrassing.
[An...]
Dear ZEISS Support, please inform when this package you mentioned will be available. Thank you!
[An...]
It seems that ZEISS/GOM does not attach much importance to giving the readers of the forum and thus the customers an answer to this question. Or is this the new ZEISS philosophy?
