iDICs "Image Scale" parameter - where to find it?

Greetings,

I use ARAMIS 2020, and I am trying to find the "Image Scale" parameter as defined in the iDIC Good Practices Guide. The units of the quantity are in pixels/mm, and it depends on camera resolution, lenses, Field of view and stand off distance. I would like to find what the image scale is in both cameras in a stereo DIC setup, or in one camera if only operating in 2D.

Note that this value is referenced in the ARAMIS App as "Local Resolution."

Thank you,

Austin

Hey Austin,

The iDIC "Image Scale" value is the same as "Local Resolution" in the ARAMIS App.

To find it:

ARAMIS App → Select your camera, lens, and measuring volume → Read the "Local Resolution" value (px/mm).

That Local Resolution value is the image scale used in the iDIC Good Practices Guide.
