Surface Comparison

I want to compare surface comparison  of Normal square plate (200X200 mm) and Curved plate. I uploaded the .stp model of Normal square plate and .stl format of curved plate. But, I am facing Error: MCADTrafo - 0002. Could you assist - How to resolve it

Hi,

if your actual and nominal data is already aligned, you can call 'Define original alignment as initial alignment'.
Otherwise you have to choose a different alignment strategy, e.g.:

• '3-points alignment' and an additional 'Local Bestfit' 

A 'Prealignment' needs a unique shape with curvature, a squre plate is usually not suitable for such kind of alignment.

Last hint: If you only want to do a comparison against a plane, you can construct a plane and call Inspection -> Deviation to geometry
