[Ja...]
I have recently installed the new Zeiss Inspect 2023 software and am wanting to create a script in the editor section. I went to the section now labelled "Add-ons" and then have been able to find all of the scripts previously created however the built in script editor is no longer a option. There is only an import option unfortunately. Please can you let me know if this is a bug or the feature is not being carried over
[Ja...]
Hi, the Script Editor is now part of the "Add-on Editor", see instructions on how to use it on https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2023/article/cmd_sys_manage_add_ons.html In short: You can use it the same way as the old Script Editor, but also can manage add-ons with it. Hope this helps! Regards, Jan
[Ry...]
I made the leap from 2021 to 2025 and this guidance isn't clear how to find Add-on Editor or Python Scripting and to put it back into my Zeiss Inspect. I want to bring back to option to record scripts, but Add-on Editor isn't like the layout I am familiar with and I cannot see record. Edited March 5 I need to specify I need to be able to record to generate the scripts as I work on my Zeiss Inspect Template
[Na...]
Helly Ryan, please have a look at the techguide: https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2025/article/cmd_sys_manage_add_ons.html#mark-8 In short, you open the app editor (called addon-editor in 2023) and create a script inside an app with right click. It should then look familiar to 2021. With 2025 SP1 it will be possible to connect Visual Studio to the software for scripting again. [Ry...]
Exactly what I am looking for! Please update the "Running Python Scripts" figure 3 to show the above screen shot. It shows record, play, stop icons and where it's hidden. In 2021 it was clearer and these options were clearer. The Zeiss documentation on Scripting and App Editor changes were confusing. https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2025/article/cmd_sys_manage_add_ons.html#mark-8. The way these articles read, suggested I need to install an addon or install Visual Studio Code. I obtained the 2025 Airfoil as an addon, so I thought I needed to get Scripting tab back by looking around there. I thought these articles suggested it was one of these addons with Script or Python in the name. I read through several articles related to Scripting. One of the articles explains the record, but provides no screenshot on where it is located. They could benefit from a figure. Us users can go figure out the rest. Greatly appreciate the help! [Na...]
Hello Ryan, the App editor is now also handling App contents (in Inspect 2021 I think there were still "packages"). The article for scripting is here, although not updated to 2025 yet: https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2023/article/introduction_to_python_scripting.html There is also a very detailed documentation at github: ZEISS INSPECT 2025 App Development Documentation — App Development Documentation When you connect Visual Studio you have access to more features like steps. If you have feedback to a techguide article, please feel free to use the "Feedback" button on the bottom of each article and the techguide team will get a notice.
