Hi All, 

I think I need to somehow only select part of the patch but I am unsure how to do that. 

otherwise I think I need to look at this another way? Can anyone help?

Hi,

you may construct a circle or cylinder with the radius and use this element for a deselection. Select the whole patch, then deselect by geometry contour while you are in the creation dialog or edit creation. On the cad you are bound to your cad resolution, so you may have to perform this on the actual surface. Or you ask the constructor of the cad to include another patch 🙂
