Create Element Group

Good morning all, 

 Attempting to combine and isolate the chosen sections so that I can inspect/ present only the chosen area. I thought the "Create Element Group" would be suitable for this, even after reading the description in the tech guide, but it states "only geometric elements are supported" . Any assist here would be appreciated.

Hi Brian, 

the use case for an element group would be to group several elements and analyse them for min/max values for example, or for gd&t inspections.

You could create a patch compound from this selection https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2023/article/cmd_primitive_create_patch_compound_from_cad.html
Depending on your inspection, it is only carried out on the selected surface (surface comparison or material thickness for example)
