two different parts assembling

Hi collegues,

please be kind to help me if you could.  There are two topics:

1. question: There are two different CAD models (two step files) which should fit together. How can I align them?  Can I Import them separetely, part and part1 or ....  ?....

I would like to assemble both of them "virtually" and inspect how the fitting looks like, is there a cover or play or something else. I thought to create a section on the assebly and see the actual section of the mesh.

2. question: After then I would like to rotate each CAD eg. 90°, recalculate the project and see again the section what changed. Of course I would like to see all changes on the mesh and on the new stages.

Thank you so much.

Hello Peter,

1. you can import them as 2 separate parts for example

1.1 You could use a surface distance or create sections and Continous Curve Distance

2. Use Alignment - Single Element Transformation - Set Matrix  here all kind of optios to align an element (=CAD) are available.

Best regards,

Jens Braun
