[Ed...]
Hello, Is there a way to create an ASME datum system with a midplane? I will need this plane for a different DRF. Thanks.
[Mi...]
Hi Eder, the software should be able to create a datum system for a parallel plane in ASME mode. In your example the problem might be the choice of the planes A1 and A2 since they are both relatively long and thin and not opposed to each other. I would guess that the same problem exists in ISO mode (if the behaviour is different in ISO and ASME I would be interested to hear about it since this should not be the case). Possible workarounds could be: 1. Use parallel planes which are roughly opposite to each other. 2. Change the computation mode for the datum system to "Geometry". [Ed...]
Thanks! I think a parallel plane will suffice.
[Ax...]
I think the main reason for this is that the two planes are not directly opposite each other.
