[Ch...]
I went thru and created all of my probes in SSC. I imported them into Calypso, and there is a discrepancy from the end of the imported probe, and where the actual end of the probe should be. See the picture. What am I doing wrong ❓Probe Mismatch.PNG
[Al...]
NOTE: If you do this on a real CMM, you will destroy things. THIS IS FOR SIMULATION ONLY. First: Make a copy of your MASTER SSC file and change the file type to .zip. Then extract the files and open the folder. You can then see the pdf file of the stylus. Unless you output that file from the Stylus system creator. Good on you if you did. Second: Find the X/Y/Z location data for the stylus. Typically your Z will be around 188.1 mm. Third: Disconnect from your virtual CMM so you can edit the Stylus System data in CMM Configuration and change the Y and Z value for the MasterProbe. It will be very close, but it won't be exact for RDS, especially with rotations. It's not perfect, but it should allow you to simulate pretty well. You'll notice these settings are in inches (7.4330 * 25.4 = 188.798).
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. This discrepancy occurs when the actual length of your physical master probe differs from the length of the SSC master probe you imported. Stylus Creator normally offers only one standard MP length for a specific probe head (RDS and XXT in your case). If your physical MP differs in length for a good reason, you'll have no other choice than to edit the Z length of each imported SSC probe accordingly. I had to do that on our old MC 550 CMM because the original master probe was much longer than the standard for MT/VAST (the CMM had been upgraded from an ST head to VAST XT). Later a ProMax rack was installed and I had to use a much shorter master probe because of space limitations. So I still needed to edit all my imported SSC styli. [De...]
If I did this wrong and didnt import an SSC file for Master, and just clicked through without using the stylus system creator, is there any way to correct the Master probed length by typing it in anywhere? Or am i screwed and need to make a new machine tab for the offline seat?
