Hi Dave, I am not actively looking for a new role, but I wanted to mention that I read the job description and your post here. I like staying engaged with industry trends and those specifically related to metrology careers. And I'm a fan of LBL (and science!). I just wanted to mention that I think this is a very solid opportunity for the right person. I appreciate the care that was taken to articulate the role. The pay is reasonably competitive and appears to scale to meet the qualifications of the candidate--although my honest opinion is that it still lags by approximately 10-20% based on cost-of-living, and I do recognize that this is a union collectively-bargained rate. Perhaps one reason I appreciate this posting is that it communicates a progressive, forward-thinking culture. Growth and opportunity often accompany organizations with this mindset. Good luck, and I hope you find a stellar candidate. You may want to repost on the main Calypso thread, since it receives more traffic. .
[Da...]
Thanks for the kind words, Jeff. I was worried about posting it in the main Calypso thread for fear of it being too off-topic and maybe a bit spammy. I agree with you about the pay. It is incredibly difficult to find top talent when the cost of living in the bay area is so high.
