Controlling Calypso File Access

We have CMM's in different states and do not want to allow programs to be run from just any location with any name the user wants.

I would like to build my own system I can control that forces users to find CMM Programs from ONE network folder tree, allows them to copy that program onto their local system to run it there, and have Calypso ONLY allow the running of CMM's from that one location.

I think, if I understand this correctly, Calypso Express will allow the running of only programs within its configuration. So, what I would need to do is simply build my system so that it can manipulate the contents of Calypso Express behind the scenes.

Has anyone tried this before? Am I going about this the right way? Am I missing a better option?

Why not just use Autorun? Locked behind passwords, with Calypso set to open to Autorun in a default use account they can't access anything but what the AutoRun lets them access.

I mean if you have PCM on these machines you can also run code that checks the location of the current program and will refuse to run anything but...

Any solution could be broken by a malicious operator that has enough knowledge, but either of those should stop it in any cases.

I agree. That's all we use is autorun. All the operator is allowed to do is enter a job number, open instructions and click run.

I agree too. If you want a REALLY waterproof solution, you need to involve your IT and implement a structure of shares on a server where each user can only see the shares he has access to.
If you don't need that much control, Autorun will do.
