[Ty...]
What is L2 Evaluation. I'm Guessing it is Just LSQ and you constrain the Vector?Geo-Tol.jpg
[Ri...]
No. The L2 would be the Gaussian Shift Outside. "However, L2 will create a plane in the middle of these points (therefore internal to the material) and is not the functional datum plane the part will contact in the assembly. Therefore, a constraint is added to the algorithm: to always make the plane external to the material. A constrained L2 is a minimization algorithm that maintains high point contact." [Ty...]
so inside calypso, what is the correct way to Build this.. Constrain my datum to its normal Vector and Leave evaluation AT LSQ?
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I believe at the moment, unless you performed an offset plane yourself, the new GD&T package is the only way to achieve this.
[Ri...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Don't read so much into the "constrained" portion. It is just the LSQ built plane, but shifted to sit on the outside of the material.
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Measure the plane as LSQ, make a secondary alignment and set rotation in space on it, copy the plane, in the copy you set alignment on your secondary alignment, recall points from the measured plane, go to evaluation, constrain normal vector and set the method to otf
