[To...]
It's been a long time but I remember seeing a few models that actually had points on the model that could be extracted via CAD > Extract > Point. I don't remember what the CAD format was. Does anyone know how to add points to a CAD model so they'll be seen in Calypso? In particular, SolidWorks. Do step files support these points if SolidWorks is saved as a step file?
[Ha...]
You can add points to a model by defining space points, and save out the CAD model in Calypso. Below is a link to a KB article on how to do this. I believe it can be saved out as a STEP file as well. https://portal.zeiss.com/knowledge-base?id=2506395

I haven't had success with Catia models that have points attached (they just don't import for whatever reason, but import inside of Zeiss Inspect), but I tend to have success with STEP files that have points attached. I don't work with many Solidworks models.
[To...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Thank you Joseph. The issue is having points at a specific location. Customer provided spreadsheet with X, Y and Z data. I know Space points can be created in CAD > Create Features by entering X, Y and Z values. I also know you can place Space Points on model and drag them around until you get them to read the nominal values. I'm looking to have points provided within the model from customer and just extract them.
[Ma...]
With autocad or something similar you can make dxf with those points, which should be importable on Calypso - not tested
