[Ke...]
In trying to create a digitized curve that scans the outside of a pentagram shaped part: First attempt: Only scanned 180 degrees... so I siad: "ok thats fine, I'll just scan the other 180 degrees on the other side. I then created a digitized curve path for 180 degrees, and the CMM scanned 160 degres... and kept going! Second attempt: I restarted the program & I created a digitized curve to go 360 degrees, and it stopped after completing 270 degrees... What??? Anyone else notice quirks like this? Any particular settings that can minimize this craziness? 🤣
[Ma...]
Sorry for not the best answer for this, but setup for that digitizing is not so simple for one answer without Calypso and pictures. If you are doing 2d curve then remember that scan will be doing by machine axis - no base alignment is used, so it won't scan in 10° in Y axis. If you want to measure whole around, then just take 2 same points for start and end. Then select rotational axis and double click direction button - you can watch arrow on CAD view. Then you have to select stopping condition to point and not plane. Look closelly into manual for anything what i described - maybe i did some mistake. [Ke...]
Please sign in to view this quote. IDK. I do short 2d curves all day long. For some reason, when trying to do the larger curve (trying to digitize around a 150mm part, it wants to stop short or do seemingly endless loops. The settings are pretty basic: Speed, Step Width, Start pt, End pt, End Criterion (I usually use Plane/Space Axis.... I tried Shere/Radius/Space Axis, but it did the exact same thing... [Ma...]
From what i do and it works normally is using End criterion as sphere - with plane it was stopping half way. If you need to do 360 on one go, then i would just take start and end point on same spot. Then selecting space axis and direction. Then it should normally work. Have you tried restarting Calypso / PC / machine? I have not seen this behavior yet
[Ke...]
Please sign in to view this quote. ...when I looked at what I was able to export, it was an insane number of points.... I changed the step width, and it worked fine. I think it was too much data, and it got "confused" 🤣
