Bringing external GearPro file in

Hello all. Recently we have been trying to figure out if our alignment is somehow causing our lead scans to be out of spec so we can prove effectiveness of our method of checking. Our sister company sent us their program and GearPro file, but when running it, it finishes the alignment but does not switch over to GearPro. We have the GearPro files, but is there something else we need to do to get them to run in our system?

you would need to make sure :

1.) Gear Pro and Calypso are connected via Gear icon and Sun Icon.
2.) Gear Pro file uses proper stylus from Calypso.
3.) approach direction in Gear Pro is ok for your alignment.
4.) correct .gear file is linked in Calypso gear macro feature/characteristic.
5.) Also need to verify GP program is not newer than what you have installed. - you can test by dragging the file into the left side of gear pro - if it opens its fine, if you get a message it may be newer version.

Chris,
Thank you for this information. I spoke with our CMM guy and he said that he doesnt have the macro that switches from Calypso over to Gearpro after the alignment is done. How do we import this into our database or will we need it exported a specific way? Is there a way to link them (and I apologize if this is covered under something you already said). I am not extremely familiar with the structure of Calypso/GearPro files.

If you have Gear Pro license you have the ability to switch from Calypso to Gear Pro - you can actually do this without a license.

Do you see a gear icon in the features/characteristic list in the Calypso program ? If so when you open you should see a path linking to the .gear file. You would replace this with the new path. There is an easy way to do this, in fact when you click on .."" it will link over to gear pro and open a browser, if it is slow, which it usually is you can close it, open your .gear file manually, then use the "sun" icon to return back to Calypso and it will have automagically linked the path to your .gear file.
