[Ma...] Posted October 9 Share Posted October 9 Howdy, I am having this issue when doing a OD circle measurement the z axis is moving in a positive direction during the tangential move causing it to fall off the part. The OD wall is only 3mm tall with a diameter of 86.xxx mm. Is this issue being caused by my base alignment or is there a way to fix the z axis at a certain height during the measurement. [To...] Posted October 9 Share Posted October 9 Please sign in to view this quote. Not sure how to solve your issue. Trying un-checking the Default option under the Tangential Probing section. I noticed your cylinder only has 1 circle path. You would need a minimum of 2. If you don't need to check the perpendicularity of B, then I would consider using a circle instead. I do need to measure perp in relation to datum A (flat plane) but with how short thin the measuring surface is I would have assumed 1 pass might have been sufficient enough. Especially if it was slowed down. I have added two passes and will pay attention to the inspection report to see if there is a change in accuracy between the two strategies. Have you ever had this problem or noticed that the probe tend to wander in the z axis during some measurement ? Thank you for the input though, much appreciated.
