Easy renaming method

I need to give a lot of features/characteristics a prefix, anyone have any quick ways of doing this?

It did not seem possible to rename things from the "measurement plan editor features" as far as I can tell. Also did not see anything on the paintbrush tool.

I'm not exactly sure the naming convention you need to apply but here is something that MAY help.

1. click the characteristics tab and then go up to Edit > Replace
2. in the replace window, in the FIND WHAT field, is there any current common naming convention in which you can find and replace with adding a prefix?

If you want to change names of features and characteristics en masse, try editing the "inspection" file in the program folder.
Every feature name and or characteristic name is in the file.
Using an editor such as NotePad++ will give you more methods of find/Replace, etc than inside Calypso.
Make a copy of the file prior to editing.
It is by far faster.

As a note, Calypso doesn't differentiate between A capital letter and a lower-case letter, an editor will.

Edit:
The Calypso program being edited externally should not be open in Calypso.

Calypso should adopt the renaming functions of the GOM software. They make complex renaming tasks a treat.
It can rename by a search string or by an expression. To give a list of elements a fixed prefix you would just write "Prefix_"+name as the new name.

There is an external utility called MP Edit made by AfM that may allow you do do it as well. MP Doc is for documenting and comparing inspection plans, while MP Edit allows you to edit those plans. It puts almost all the info you would want to access into an excel sheet for easy in reading and comparing.

Afm is not too good at getting back to requests.
I had my email correspondence on 5/14/2024, after that they dropped off the radar.
I was looking for a demo version.

I worked with them pre pandemic, it was a relatively positive experience at that time. I honestly haven't looked into if they are still in business. Thanks for letting me know they dropped off the radar. Ill look more into it over the next couple weeks. I'm very busy right now with a growing workload.
