[Sa...]
Hello, I want to measure the position of the plane which is inc lined by some 3° to my datum. When I measured this plane using position tolerance, the value in Y from datum is measured as -25.145 mm . Could you please tell me how is this value measured in case of plane which is not parallel to the datum. Is it the mid value? because in 3D I have the smallest distance of -24.9 mm and largest distance of -25.35 mm. I am interested in knowing the how GOM computes the distances for planes which are not parallel to Datum. Any information is highly appreciable. Thank you in advance. [Ch...]
Hi. Yes, the displayed distance is measured from the centre of the geometry. If you open the tab marked "Geneigte Toleranzzone" (meaning 'Tilted tolerance zone"), you can enable an option to rotate the zone against the datum axis. This option should use the 3° defined by the nominal plane automatically. Regards Christian Edited October 13, 2021
[Sa...]
Hi, thanks for reply. Yes there is an option and the value looks like below. So basically for measuring planes in plastic parts which are drafted, we should use this option for correct interpretation of the position tolerance? am I correct. Thanks for your time.
