[Mi...]
Hi, Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but..... We have GOM 6130 and have updated to the superb GOM Inspect Pro 2021 software. But we have an issue... When we run (all scan series - great addition) a previously created Template (with Initial alignment by Reference Points and an RPS alignment) the active alignment switches to the initial alignment upon completion of the Photogrammetry. At the end of the scanning series the alignment does not switch back to RPS. We have to manually re-select RPS and recalculate otherwise results are in the incorrect alignment. The Template was saved with RPS active. Some of my colleagues have published Reports without noticing this new behaviour. Is this normal?
[Je...]
Hello Mr. Hill, the issue is, that the project is not saved in RPS, right? Are you measuring with KIOSK? This is actually a normal behavior (SW2021), the final alignment is not the alignment which was active during template creation (yes, this might be unexpected). This depends on the order of calculating all elements and report pages, normally this should be optimized to the shortest calculation time possible of the project. All reports should be updated correctly. If you then take a look inside the project you may have to recalc everything in RPS afterwards, which seems to be not very user friendly and we have already an issue to offer an option to define the final alignment in future software version. [Mi...]
Hi Jens and thanks for the response. The Template was saved in RPS and we are not using Kiosk. This is a new behaviour in 2021 and unexpected. The proposed update sounds perfect, but for now we must be diligent and check our work.
[Be...]
Hi, if the reports were created during an active RPS alignment the updating of the reports should ensure that the RPS is activated again before the report is updated. This is the recommended way. In the KIOSK setting we have a special possibility to define in which alignment a recalculation should be done before exporting. If you work interactively with the project template we tried to ensure the stored alignment during template creation but we couldn't ensure it for all cases. Therefore you have to check the active alignment now and already in the past before you create further reports or you export something. For export we offer a special possibility: Export via report pages. This also ensures that the listed elements in the report pages are exported in the same alignment like on the report page. Hope this helps?! Regards, Bernd
