piweb is only taking data from one CMM type

I am trying to look at data collected on two different CMMs. They save ZMP files to the same spot but piweb is only allowing data from which ever machine I am on. How do you get piweb not filter by CMM type?

Good morning,
Are you running PiWeb Reporting/Reporting Plus or PiWeb SBS/Enterprise? With PiWeb Reporting Plus, your CMMs are separate entities and data from one cannot be viewed on another. With PiWeb SBS/Enterprise, the data is synced with a central database that would include all machines. If you have SBS/Enterprise and are not seeing all of your machines, it's likely that there is a mistake in the synchronization settings. My current place of work does not have SBS/Enterprise so I unfortunately cannot offer you any screenshots for troubleshooting, but hopefully this points you in the right direction and someone else can come in to fill in the gaps.

Best,
Andy Block

We unfortunately only have PiWeb Plus. That is really unfortunate, have you ever looked at a 3rd part software handling that data?

We have all of the data saved in the same spot, I wonder if there is a way to trick calypso into being able to look at all the ZMP files. Like giving both CMMs the same name

Unfortunately, I don't have the experience with another reporting software to give you an answer about a 3rd party software. My previous employer was very big into PiWeb and I really only focused on that. I've looked at QC calc a bit and my current place of work has a license, but it's not consistently used so I can't say much about it. I do think you can connect it to a SQL database though, which would do what you want.

From a CALYPSO standpoint, all of your measurement plans sync their data with local databases. You can see them if you look in this directory: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO 7.6\workarea\PiWebReportingDatabases. CALYPSO 7.6 would obviously be whatever version you're running. There may be a way to sync these local databases with a central database yourself but the issues are numerous. I don't know if it's even possible and I'd guess that ZEISS would not provide support for this endeavor.

I'm sorry that I cannot provide more help on this issue. If you happen to discover a method that works for your purposes, please share it.

I thought PiWeb used ZMP files for this kind of data? In the location you posted all I see are dfs files and there is only one per program instead of one file per run.

We have all of our ZMP files saved to a central drive location that both machines share. I am going to try and do a mass subsequent evaluation on an offline seat to see if manually selecting the data from each individual machine on one seat will consolidate everything. Clunky but could work

Thank you Mr Block

You could try a subsequent evaluation of the ZMPs on the alternate PC. This would be a workaround method for the idea you are trying to achieve in a limited capacity. The function to natively "merge" data to combined databases from multiple sources requires PiWeb SBS or PiWeb Enterprise.

Running all data on a separate machine via mass subsequent evaluation did work. Slow and clunky but it does work
