Are you guys keeping busy?
We were reduced to 32 hours a week... Very slow here. We are a precision grinding service.

I don't work for a production facility, so my 2 cents probably don't matter. 🤣
I work on prototypes, benchmarking, and customer return analysis, so our work is always fluctuating.
I'll say that we definitely are not as busy as before the panini (what I call the pandemic.. sorry, not sorry). But I always have side projects & training to do, so no worries on my end.

Our work has become very busy after the pandemic.
We work in the automotive industry. We closed the year 2023 with record production units. We started by investing in 5 new machines in 2024. Our production department tries to close orders by working on Sundays. I think we are trying to close the gap on the days we did not work during the pandemic period.

Medical is booming, we are still 50+ hours a week. Its not bad or a small, family owned shop.

Not as busy as last year but, keeping our head well above water.
John Deere, despite 10 Billion in profit last year, has laid off over a thousand people in the last few months in Iowa, Illinois and Michigan because they said sales were down 10% this year but, they're also moving a lot of production to two different plants being built in Mexico. Labor cost including retirement pensions and less government and EPA regulations strikes again. I know of two other companies doing the same thing.
