[Pa...]
I have a .gear file and Calypso inspection written for a customer's external involute spline. The geometry and program for the finished part is easy for me to understand. This being their first time making this particular spline, production just brought me a workpiece with only 6 of 52 gaps finished (three centered about 0° and 3 opposed centered about 180°). All remaining gaps have been rough milled something like 0.050" oversized. I'm able to run my program but obviously get wild results that don't have any information for the production team. I'm comfortable skipping the incomplete teeth. Knowing that they finish ground teeth to a condition of .0277" oversized (measurement over pins), what modifications to the nominal spline geometry must I make to confirm their wheel profile is correct, their lead traverse is producing the correct amplitude of crowned lead, and that pitches are where they need to be to finish this up correctly? [Ch...]
you may be able to inspect all gaps, ground and not-ground using Feed-In, tooth thickness correction... you will also likely need to use manual alignment above as well.. To inspect certain gaps only (ground only), you will need to choose "selected gaps" option - good luck !!man feed in.JPG
