is there any workaround to have parametrization in GearPro?.. is a shame that the * .gear files are not generated in text format..

100% Agree there should be PCM in Gear Pro.

For example, face width of parts could vary from part to part .001-.005" ; and a number of other reasons.

I've inquired many times and there are multiple requests in My Voice.

Since Gear Pro is essentially a 'wrapper' or macro for Calypso lines and curves etc, I think theoretically it should be possible. They are just communicating through a port. However due to the fact there is notorious disconnects and loss of connections - this may be why. Until they build Gear Pro inside Calypso and/or MyVoice gets 100's of requests I don't see it happening.

If anyone wants to start a petition, I'm willing to sign and share.

you are pretty crafty with PCM, are you referring to spur gear or bevel gear ? I think bevel gear may have option to output to .txt, involute, not sure, but I'm sure it could be done in another application like NX, etc.

You can create 'templates' with many default settings, this is what I do , then just input gear geometry and program is 90% done.

I wish we could get an option to behave like a standard gear checker where it will scan the length of the tooth face, and auto comp the measured/length to compensate. 🙁

I don’t understand why Zeiss answer is that is not possible, maybe the only update we need is to save the*.gear files in text format (I think)..
They are already reading data in text format:

Israel, are you after the gear geometry only, or gear tolerance, etc as well ?

update : try going to file-->export-->GDE This seemed to output things to an .xml file
