Is there a brute force method to install SDCO?

I have a laptop that I may have to reinstall windows from scratch.
I had Calypso v2016, v2017 installed and working. Then I installed Calypso v2022.
That initially went ok, running v2022.
When I tried to run v2016 or v2017, it failed due to cmmos.dll?

I uninstalled all Calypso versions starting with v2022, and behold, it wiped out the SQL SDCO (again).
This time, something else went wrong and I can't install any version of SQL SDCO, every instance fails for the same reason.
A version for SDCO is installed, yet no version of SDCO can be found.

So...
Is there a brute force method of installing SDCO? (SQL SDCO v14 used to work and I've gone back as far as v8).

Why does v2022 wipe out SQL SDCO making it non-functional?

If you run the installer SQL is installed before Calypso so you can effectively do a repair install that way.

I just had to do it because the IT Co-op student deleted SDCO and SQL 2017 on one of the lab CMMs because it showed up as a "vulnerability"

That poor kid will be afraid to delete anything ever again the way the main IT guy came down on him. lol

That link works, not sure why Jeff's didn't, his info is usually spot on.

I can confirm that uninstalling v2022 (twice) and v2024 (once) does wipe out the SQL SDCO configuration for all remaining installed versions making them unusable.

Hello

Before you install SQL again, first step is to make sure SQL is fully uninstall, that includes removing/renaming folders, removing sql from registry, uninstalling everything related to sql in computer. you will have to do all these steps using admin rights.

I followed this from uninstall thru install.
Unfortunately, uninstalling Calypso and or SDCO (via windows) doesn't remove all files/folders or registry entries.
You have to fish for left over data.
There are far more registry entries than listed and many leftover files/folders.
Once I purged all the remaining data, I was able to reinstall SQL SDCO.
