With Scan only, how to measure radius along a 3d curve (flange).

I only have the basic training.  I am trying to measure the radius a different points along a 3D curve.  The best any only solution I have seemed to find was to create a surface curve along the curve and then make an Orthogonal Fitting Radius and the make deviation labels.  Issue being, I don't know if these results are the true radius of that curve. 

Curvature gives many different radii due to it being a worn surface

Is there a way to simply measure what the radius is on a scanned mesh?
