Where did you find it? Your file path might be different, depending on how you save your Calypso install downloads.

Yea this is why I want to try 2024 so much.

I put in to get my license update for my offline seat yesterday, and have yet to receive it.

You should be able to just activate it using license management tool.

I had to create a ticket regarding my license. I have yet to receive mine, and now all of my eligible machines are showing Error, on license update. Still waiting on IT to respond regarding the SQL 2022 issue. I was able to install it on my single Windows 11 PC, but none of my Window 10 PC's that I tried.

I am attempting to rebuild the registry for SQL, SDCO.
If anyone who has Calypso 2020 installed would look at the following registry entries:
I screen shot of the structure Data would be helpful.

Registry key not found. Key = 'SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\SDCO\MSSQLServer\CurrentVersion'

Registry value not found. Key = 'SOFTWARE\Zeiss\SQLServerSetup-SDCO', Value = 'SQLServerInstallStep'

(What version do you have?) Setting string variable 'SDCOVersionX86' to value '10.0.5500.0'

Here's the CurrentVersion registry entry for your first item. The second doesn't seem to exist.

Thank you Thomas.
I was able to rebuild two of the missing registry entries.
The other two are "Hidden" registry entries.
When I try to create a key named: SQLServerSetup-SDCO
I get an error that it already exists.
I searched the entire registry and could not find it.
I do know it exists in "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zeiss", this is where I cant create the key, because it already exists.

Last two registry entries.
[666C:67FC][2024-06-25T07:42:55]i000: Registry key not found. Key = 'SOFTWARE\Zeiss\SQLServerSetup-SDCO'
[666C:67FC][2024-06-25T07:42:55]i000: Registry key not found. Key = 'SOFTWARE\Zeiss\SQLServerSetup-SDCO'

Zeiss should be looking into this as a probable installation issue. When my installation failed it obviously removed registry entries and possibly hid the last two. (Hidden may not be the right description, perhaps the entries require admin status, although I am the admin to the laptop).
I can say the above because this is an automated installation that the user has no control over.
[Edit] The install also deleted many files related to running the SDCO, even though the install shows it creates a Restore Point, no restore points can be found.

I am not sure how to proceed to fix the "SQLServerSetup-SDCO" hidden registry entries, I'll post if I can or can not resolve this.
[Edit] Have to run the editor as admin. I can now see the registry entry.

Can a member look at their registry for: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zeiss\SQLServerSetup-SDCO
so I can see the construct of it?
I would guess there are two entries in that key from the error log file.

I was able to resolve the SQL SDCO issue after attempting to install v2024.
In the end, I went back to v2016 and install SQL version 2014.
This is an old method used by Zeiss that I think uses a more brute force method of installing SQL for Calypso, it worked.
Then I installed SQL v2017, and that worked.
Both SQL installs where from prior Zeiss installations, I happened to keep these in an "Installed" folder for record retention.
I am now able to run multiple versions of Calypso again.

Reading Calypso install log files are difficult to decipher. 🧑‍💻

Abbas,

A usable entitlement ID will not populate in my Portal. It lists version 7.2 as our latest version, and it says that our SMA is not paid.
We are on version 7.6, and our SMA is paid. Please assist. Thanks.

Been waiting a week now, mine also says contract renewal due, which I don't think it is at this time.

Maybe this is the bug Germany is working on? Been a week now today waiting to but all 64bits and throw more processors at Calypso - and look for some rumored features I did not see in Release Notes.

Would have thought they would have been able to supply a demo/trial license in the meantime...

Sigh...

Hi Chris,

In the License Update section of the Portal, what is the "Software Status" of your seats?

Also, the "Renewal due" indicator does not mean that the SMA contract is expired. It refers only to the current SMA contract expiring soon. It also does not take into account if a new SMA contract has already been purchased or renewed (which would be under a new contract number).

I hope this helps.

Lucas,

My "Software Status" on the portal says "In Process." It has said this for several days. Any ideas?

Thank you for the support, It was "in progress" for several days, now is Error.

I think I know the answer to this question, but need confirmation.

If I have Calypso 2019, and I want to upgrade to 2024, do I have to pay for the years I did not upgrade (catch up cost)? Or am I just paying for a one year SMA which allows me to download 2024? Thank you!

Hello Devin

If you have an active SMA you can download latest version of calypso, you dont have to pay for the missed year in order to install calypso 2024

I assume he's asking because he hasn't 😃
I'd wish one wouldn't have to pay for the years missed, but our first-hand experience is the opposite. I guess there's room for negotiations for long-term customers who only missed the renewal date of their existing contract, but with a gap of five years, I fear you'll have to pay the full price for the 2024 release - or renew your old SMA (if there was one) and pay the SMA fee for the missing years - which won't be much cheaper..

I do not have an active SMA. What is the ball park full price for the 2024 version?

Zeiss does not charge you for missing your SMA. You just simply renew the SMA, no need to outright purchase Calypso again.

Hello Devin

After Market rep from Zeiss can send you a quote, you can call our hotline 1 800 327-9735 and give them your info and let them know you are interested in renewing your SMA, they will make a new ticket for you and AMS from Zeiss will give you a call with all the information on renewing SMA and answer any question you have.

ZEISS (confirming for North American customers specifically) does not back-charge for missing SMA years. The renewal is the same price as if you were current in the previous year. You may be confusing ZEISS with Hexagon and some CAD software companies who, at my last check, required a payment for previous years if your contract was not kept current. You are not penalized for missing a year in your SMA contract.
